This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Staff Certification Instructor conducts training classes to help YMCA staff obtain their certifications CPR/AED, First Aid and Oxygen.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.

- Complete required abuse risk management training.

- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.

- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

- to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

- Teach classes following standards established by ASHI (American Safety and Health Institute).

- Ensure staff meet requirements of the written exam and skills assessment.

- Hold at least 4 classes a month with a minimum of one weekend class and one evening class.

- Complete required paperwork at the end of each course.
