Mission: Enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis and their families throughout Southern Indiana, Western Kentucky, and Southern Illinois.
About the TSMSA: For thousands of people in the tri-state affected by Multiple Sclerosis, there is hope! That hope comes from a commitment to improve the lives of MS patients and their families. Many people in our rural areas are not aware of the current treatments and the importance of early intervention after a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. The Tri-State MS Association offers services including an MS-certified Nurse Educator, monthly support group meetings, a bi-monthly newsletter, education programs, medical/financial assistance, and social events. We also host numerous fundraising events, all of which help over 1,400 families in the tri-state area.
Position Overview: The Tri-State MS Association is seeking an Executive Director to continue the momentum in our communities and expand future opportunities to serve Tri-state patients battling MS.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide overall leadership to the organization, working collaboratively with the board, staff, and the public to develop and implement strategies for continual organizational improvement.
• Collaborate with board and staff members on strategies and campaigns.
• Enhance brand awareness and strengthen the visibility of the organization.
• Serve as the designated public spokesperson for the organization.
• Network with the community to establish and enhance relationships for potential and continuous fundraising.
• Participate in the development of grant proposals and other fundraising activities.
• Work with the finance committee to prepare the budget and determine costs related to current and future programs.
• Maintain and increase the organization’s revenue.
• Recruit and employ potentially expanded personnel.
• Maintain official records and documents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Communicate frequently with area MS patients.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage with individuals from diverse cultures and stakeholders.
• Previous success working with a board of directors and proven ability to build and strengthen relationships with the board.
• Strong organizational management skills with the ability to coach and manage staff, set and achieve strategic goals, and manage a budget.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Grant writing experience is highly preferred.
• Preferred experience working with physicians and medical personnel.
• Ability to travel to various worksite locations and workshops within the tri-state area.
