New Traditions Series to be Performed at Adath B'nai Israel Temple

Evansville Philharmonic’s New Traditions Series will be performed at Temple Adath B’nai Israel, located at 8440 Newburgh Road, Evansville, on Thursday, November 13 at 6:00 PM. The concert is free and open to the public.

The New Traditions Diversity Series highlights music by underrepresented composers, expanding awareness of diverse voices in classical music. This special program will feature works by Jewish composers Joseph Horovitz, Erwin Schulhoff, and Viktor Ullmann—artists whose lives and music were deeply affected by the Holocaust.

The program includes:

Oboe Quartet, Op. 18 by Joseph Horovitz featuring Elizabeth Robertson, Oboe

Five Pieces for String Quartet by Erwin Schulhoff

String Quartet No. 3, Op. 46 by Viktor Ullmann

The Eykamp String Quartet consists of Jack Bogard, Violin I; Michael Chu, Violin II; Mark Hatlestad, Viola; and Graham Cullen, Cello. Joining the Quartet for this performance is Elizabeth Robertson, Principal Oboe of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dick and Diane Arneson are the New Traditions Diversity Series Sponsors.

The 2025–2026 New Traditions Series highlights innovative programming, celebrates diverse voices, and offers immersive performance experiences in distinctive venues throughout the community.
